Wednesday’s Prayer

Temptation

Lord, I need your help
When daily I am faced
With temptation to do what's wrong,
Lord, I need your loving grace

I feel so very desperate
And I try to do my best,
Why can't I be stronger, Lord,
And rise above the flesh?

All the power that I need,
Your Holy Spirit provides
I need to keep my trust in you
And my flesh, I must deny

He knows just how we feel
When temptation comes to us
And provides a way of escape
When we have had enough

We must trust to Him each day
That He'll be with us all,
So we may bear up under it
And be stronger in the Lord.

There is not a one of us that doesn’t face temptation and it comes in many forms. Some may seem so small and others huge. Lord, give us strength in You and the faith to believe that You will bring us through. Help us to truly trust that You are there to bring us over and beyond anything that we are tempted by. Forgive us because when Your word leaps off the page at us and we feel so ashamed but still take comfort that You still love us.
