How to walk with the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. Three persons of the Godhead with different functions but they are One. 1 John 5:7 states, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one.” Many Christians do not know much about the Holy Spirit because we usually hear about God the Father in heaven. Jesus Christ is mentioned many times but the Holy Spirit plays a crucial and vital role in our lives. We could never live a life for Jesus Christ without the help of the Holy Spirit because He is the one that guides and instructs us in our spirit. The Apostles of the Lord were with Him and they were being taught from Jesus Christ Himself. They were still not equipped to go out into the world and teach the gospel until they received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is God just like the Father and Jesus Christ. Have you ever been at a church where the gospel wa

How to abstain from sin Some of us think when we become Christians we will hardly sin because we gave our life to Christ and our Lord will keep us from sinning. That is not true but Jesus does mysterious take some desires away from us so we won't want to commit some sins. On the other hand He will let us linger in other sins to test our character. There will be many struggles to stay away from transgressions because the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. In fact the whole verse says, "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:4. Our job is to watch and pray. We are in a spiritual warfare and our flesh is weak. If we are sitting in a chair an impure thought could come in our mind. What we do with it is up to us but the temptation in and of itself is not a sin. We can choose to entertain that thought but if we do we will transgress into sin. This is easier said than done. When we bec

How to make decisions and the will of God Making decisions are sometimes difficult in life and we all face the dread of making the wrong choices. There are low level decisions, medium and high level choices that effect us and everyone around our surroundings so I am very convinced that this is a topic that should be discussed and analyzed from the backdrop of what the Bible teaches and how we are to apply this principle in our lives. Even though the Bible says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." James 1:5. This verse is clear but that does not mean we will never make a wrong decision in life. It was once said that sixty thousand thoughts pass through our minds every day so I believe it would be hard to make the right decision every single time. I'm not sure if that number is correct but it is something to ponder and you can come to your own conclusion on the matter. Maybe

How to deal with our enemies the biblical way God sees everything and one of the realities He observes is people that are angry without a cause to us. More often than not this offense ends up becoming a persecution. Jesus said, "Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh." Matthew 18:7. If a person or group is after us we have an obligation to try and set things right even if we were not wrong. The problem comes when the individual or group won't listen and they decide to make our life miserable which is a certain type of trial that many people just can not bear in their life. Perhaps they came from a warm home and what they are facing is so foreign to them that the burden is to heavy to bear. Usually there are seasons of persecution because even a contaminated soul gets tired of his or her own foolishness but this varies depending on how much of a controlling spirit he or she pos
